Discussion on Carbon Black Masterbatch
2021.11.01
As a black colorant, carbon black has strong coloring power and excellent hiding performance, and is widely used in rubber and plastic industries. In addition to dyeing, carbon black is added to plastics and rubbers, and it also has many excellent properties such as filling, reinforcement, antistatic and anti-aging. However, in the plastic production process, especially in the batching and mixing stages, the addition of carbon black will cause environmental pollution. To solve this problem, the plastics industry has gradually avoided the direct use of carbon black and switched to carbon black masterbatch for production.
As an inorganic dye, carbon black's dispersibility in the resin directly affects the mechanical properties and appearance of the product. Generally, it can be modified by heat treatment, oxidation treatment and chemical grafting. According to the different combination with resin, carbon black dispersibility modification can be divided into physical modification and chemical modification.
