Carbonate (PC) has excellent mechanical and chemical properties, so it is widely used. However, environmental factors such as light, oxygen, temperature and humidity can cause changes in the properties of polycarbonate. In order to improve the anti-aging performance of polycarbonate materials, it is necessary to fully understand its aging mechanism, and then purposefully carry out anti-aging modification. There are three main aging reactions: physical aging, photo-oxidation aging, and thermal oxidative aging. The aging of polycarbonate will cause changes in structure and performance.

 

With the continuous deepening of research on PC aging behavior, there will be a deeper understanding of its aging laws. In the future, the research on PC aging will be in-depth in the following aspects: the aging failure law of PC under the complex situation of the synergistic effect of multi-factor environmental factors; the correlation between the artificial accelerated aging failure law and the aging failure law of the natural atmosphere. It is worth noting that as an important structural material, PC's application range will be further expanded. There will be new and more extreme application environments, or some new application fields (such as the optoelectronic field) will have its aging performance More demanding requirements, for which related aging research should be followed up in time.
