Research on Polypropylene Conductive Material

2021.02.05

Conductive polypropylene (PP) has been used in electronics, electrical, communications, coal mines, oil fields, construction and other industries to produce anti-static component boxes, anti-static trays, explosion-proof electrical enclosures and parts, anti-static floors, and electronic equipment shielding enclosures , Hollow board, automatic work transmission carrier belt, conductive precision potentiometer and slide rail products. At present, the method for preparing conductive polypropylene is mainly to add conductive carbon black and additives to the polypropylene matrix. The composite conductive polypropylene prepared by this method is simple to form and process, and the composite material can be flexibly adjusted according to the filling amount. Resistivity and conductivity are durable and stable.

Carbon black is blended with a single polymer to prepare conductive materials, usually 15% to 20% by mass of carbon black is required. High filling will bring many adverse effects: the melt viscosity of the composite system increases, and the processing performance becomes worse; the mechanical properties of the material, especially the impact strength, is significantly reduced; the carbon black particles are easy to fall off from the composite system, causing environmental pollution; electrical resistivity It is not easy to accurately control, and the reproducibility is poor. Therefore, reducing the filling amount of carbon black is the key to improving the performance of composite conductive polymers.
