Research on Polypropylene Reinforcement

Polypropylene has the advantages of excellent mechanical properties, good corrosion resistance, and recyclability, and is widely used in various fields. The disadvantages of polypropylene include large molding shrinkage and easy warpage of products. The development of polypropylene composite materials can make up for these shortcomings.

Glass fiber reinforced polypropylene refers to a composite material with excellent functions produced by suitable processing methods with polypropylene as the base material and glass fiber as the reinforcing phase. It has the advantages of high strength, light weight, and high temperature resistance. Natural fiber and polypropylene composite materials are mainly blended materials of bamboo fiber, wood flour, straw and polypropylene. Inorganic filler modified polypropylene is to reduce material costs while improving the mechanical properties, heat resistance and dimensional stability of the mixture.
