SBS block copolymer is the most widely used thermoplastic elastomer. It is composed of a flexible polybutadiene segment in the middle and a rigid polystyrene segment at both ends. SBS molecules are physically cross-linked to make them have thermosetting and thermoplastic properties. Commonly used in plastic modification, adhesives and shoe material technology. SBS also has the disadvantages of low heat resistance, low mechanical strength, poor creep resistance, oil resistance and poor adhesion to polar materials. Therefore, people modify SBS to improve its oil resistance, compatibility and adhesion with polar materials.
The graft modification of SBS utilizes the reaction of polar monomers with the middle rubber section of SBS, and the obtained copolymers are used to prepare various adhesives, which can improve the bonding strength of the product with fabrics, leather, wood and other materials. SBS grafted maleic anhydride can improve the compatibility of SBS and asphalt, so that SBS can be stably dispersed in asphalt, and a modified asphalt with good storage stability can be prepared. It has high strength, high softening point, improved low temperature performance, and obvious elastic recovery performance. Enhanced, paving roads not only has superior hydrogen energy and long service life.
