Silicone masterbatch has a variety of excellent characteristics such as good thermal stability, non-toxic and harmless, and can efficiently improve the fluidity of plastics. It can be used as a lubricant, flame retardant, scratch resistance and other additives in plastic modification field.
As a plastic processing lubricant, adding 1% to 2% of silicone masterbatch can significantly improve the fluidity of the resin, reduce the extrusion torque, and reduce the mechanical energy consumption. At the same time, in injection or compression molding, the silicone masterbatch can also improve the mold filling and demolding properties of the plastic, so that the plastic material can be discharged quickly and the product deformation is small.
Silicone-based flame retardants can form a silicon-carbon layer when burned, play a flame retardant effect, and are non-toxic, smoke suppressant, and anti-melt when burned. They are considered to be the type of flame retardant that can best meet environmental protection requirements. In addition, silicone-based flame retardants may also improve the fluidity of the resin melt due to the special silicon-oxygen bond structure.
As a scratch-resistant agent, silicone masterbatch can endow the composite material with better scratch resistance, reduce the surface friction factor of the plastic product, thereby enhance the scratch resistance and abrasion resistance of the plastic, and improve the product texture.
