TPEE Overview

2022.02.20

Thermoplastic polyester elastomer, also known as polyester rubber, is a type of linear block copolymer containing polybutylene terephthalate polyester hard segment and aliphatic polyester or polyether soft segment. TPEE has both the excellent elasticity of rubber and the ease of processing of thermoplastics, with adjustable hardness and freedom of design. It is a new variety of thermoplastic elastomers that has attracted much attention.

The hard segment in TPEE is generally selected from high hardness crystalline PBT, and the soft segment is selected from non-crystalline polyether or polyester. As a special rubber, TPEE is a good polymer modifier. TPEE can improve the low temperature performance and impact performance of POM, PET, PBT, PS and other engineering plastics, improve the oil resistance and stress cracking resistance of PC, improve the low temperature flexibility and cold resistance of PVC, reduce the spinning temperature of PP, improve dyeing and feel.
